After several long periods of financial trouble, the company was finally taken over and reorganized by Sonic Core. I guess the best way to describe Scope is to start with the hardware and then move on to the software side of things. You needed a pretty good size room and a lot of patch cables to produce music with one of those babies. This page was last edited on 23 December , at In , the company ‘ Sonic Core ‘ purchased certain Creamware assets and intellectual property. Even sales, support and application engineers can modify software and execute changes for customers.

CreamWare SCOPE Overview

Some are virtual copies of older analog models which are now considered collectors items like the MiniMoog and Pro-One. The regular SCOPE software contains all tools required for the development of signal processing systems with specific GUIs; an extended version enables users to take advantage of the system’s scripting level.

Virtual effects can sxope loaded into the mixer channel inserts allowing for scoope effects creamwre on each track. These things were huge man. The name alone is impressive, standing for SC alable O bject P rocessing E nvironment, an electronic “Erector Set” for the next Millennium, if you will.

The Scope Modular synth is basically a collection of synthesizer “building blocks” or modules that you string together to create new sounds – modeled after the original Moog modular synthesizer that artists like Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, and those guys in Tangerine Dream used to play back in the early 70’s. As well as familiar equalization, SCOPE includes algorithms for dynamics processing compressor, limiter and gate and a selection of delay effects such as reverb, chorus, phasing and flanging.

Creamware (software company)

In terms of operating software, CreamWare’s development team seems to have done its homework. The number of virtual devices that you can load at any one given time is determined by the number of DSP’s you have installed. Up to three separate cards can be installed in a single computer.

The software made by Creamware offered better visual handling of audio ‘samples’, sometimes called ‘clips’ or ‘items’ in similar software. The later revisions versions 2 and 3 took greater advantage of the fact that a software implementation can have elements not available to in hardware, such as the ability to provide bespoke user interfaces, and also added a number of new modules with each release.

Thanks to SCOPE’s extensive circuit design capabilities, there are already many [third-party] application engineers working on new functionality. It’s a powerful and flexible audio processing and music development system. Even sales, support and application engineers can modify software and execute changes for customers.

A user could easily drag samples up and down creamwade digital multi-tracks in a window called the ‘arranger’. If you’ve never seen one, click here. You connect these devices together using virtual patch cables, much like hooking actual studio hardware together.

You had to let the thing warm up for a half an hour before you could actually play it. Click on the thumbnail image above to see the bigger picture. The ability to prototype [quickly], with the option to involve users at an early state, extends the creative process for product development.

A number of third party developers also created modules for Version 2 and 3 of the software, and the total number of modules available for this system is in the hundreds. This product was originally developed and marketed by a German audio company called Creamware. After several long periods of financial trouble, the company was finally taken over and reorganized by Sonic Core. These cards are used to create synthesized sounds for audio production in music and other audio environments. Both versions were widely used by German and Canadian commercial radio stations, and state owned Chinese radio stations.

There were three distinct categories in the Scope product family which were differentiated by the number of DSP chips installed: The latter is implemented via the hardware, and considered far more secure than dongle-based solutions. Please help improve it or discuss these issues on the talk page. Each device or element appears as a separate box with it’s own inputs and outputs.

We offer attractive OEM pricing on our hardware, a [cost factor] that makes use of SCOPE far more economic than [developing and innovating] custom hardware.
